Lovely vintage mixed lot
of 29 tinted or dyed mother of pearl shell buttons with fabulous
MOP luster. This is a sweet mix of pastel colors: pale pink, lemon yellow and
soft green. This is an assortment of styles and sizes including carved, two hole
fish eye sew through, and self shank. Lot includes 5 carved buttons, 17 two hole
sew through, and 7 self shank buttons. Includes 7 tiny pink diminutive buttons.
Button sizes range from the largest at 7/8" (carved) to the smallest at
5/16". Excellent vintage
condition.
These buttons are from a recent auction purchase of new old stock (NOS) from the
American Pearl Button Company in Washington, Iowa. They made MOP pearl shell
buttons from 1908 to 1965. I have several colors of these gorgeous dyed mother
of pearl buttons: pale pink, raspberry red, light blue, pale green, yellow and
gray. There are numerous sizes in each color so please check my other items for
matching buttons in different styles and sizes. Some of these shell buttons are
carved and some are not. This is a rare opportunity to coordinate your buttons
on projects that require several different sizes of buttons. Keep in mind,
quantities are limited!!
