Vintage 1988 softcover Crafting book ~ The New Quilting & Patchwork Dictionary ~ 280 pages, by Rhoda Ochser Goldberg. Contains over 1740 photos and diagrams of the most known and unknown patterns of the last two centuries. Among the quilting patterns from A to Z are Amish, Applique, Cathedral, Crazy, Diamonds, Embroidered, English Padded, Hawaiian, Hexagons, Mola, Painted Quilt Blocks, Pentagons, Postage Stamp, Prestuffed, Trapunto, Whitework Yo-Yo, and alphabet patterns.
Hundreds of patchwork patterns are shown in alphabetical order, all drafted on graph paper so that full-size patterns or templates can be made from them. Each pattern is accompanied by a color legend to help the quilter determine suggested light, medium, or dark areas for fabric choices. Finishing techniques cover bindings and borders. There is an extremely useful index of patterns to help the quilter locate the specific pattern needed.
